A huge delivery from Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson, and Whitesville just landed at all stores.

Sugar Cane’s new bootcut jeans are here. These are words you probably weren’t expecting to read today. We used to carry bootcut jeans from Sugar Cane, Iron Heart, and Imperial from 2006 to 2009; but over the years most Japanese brands phased out these models as demand for slimmer and tapered (then wider) jeans erased any interest in bootcut silhouettes. Sugar Cane seems to be the first Japanese brand to revisit this style with a completely reworked fit and a new pure-indigo dyed 14oz denim developed in-house and based off bootcut jeans from the early 1970’s, while the fit is inspired by silhouettes closer to the late 1970’s. I guess if you’re selling jeans for nearly 20 years then you’ll see styles you never thought would come back actually come back, and here we are, bootcut jeans, we have them again.

Sugar Cane Fiction & Romance Work Pants are also here. These are made of an 8oz indigo stripe fabric, woven on a shuttle loom, and inspired by vintage narrow-width textiles originally used for traditional Japanese clothing. Initially it appears to be a simple indigo-and-natural stripe fabric, but upon closer inspection, small white areas can be seen within the indigo base. These subtle white sections are created using kasuri yarns, which are carefully resist-dyed to produce a two-tone effect within a single thread.
