Kennedy, Robert De Niro, and Johnny Depp. In addition, American Optical sunglasses have a long track record of being used by the US military and police, and their quality is guaranteed. It has been worn in numerous movies such as "Top Gun", "Easy Rider", and "Taxi Driver", and is still loved by US military pilots and bikers for over 60 years.
Since its start in 1993, Buzz Rickson's has continued to revive numerous masterpieces delivered to the US military. In order to develop eyewear on the occasion of the 30th anniversary they've asked the craftsmen of American Optical, who have a history of working with the US military, to produce them, and produced a collaboration model at their workshop in Illinois, USA. This model is based on the FG58 (Flight Goggles 58), which was adopted by the US Air Force as sunglasses for pilots in 1958. It has features that pilots want, such as adopting a straight "bayonet temple" that can be worn while wearing a helmet or headset. This model is also famous for being used by the Apollo 11 crew in 1969, with the actual model from that time on display at the Smithsonian Institution.
These are a limited edition and will not be restocked.
