Boncoura’s 15oz black denim Painter Pants and indigo denim Type II jackets have landed at all stores.

A true icon of American workwear, painter's pants have been reimagined through Boncoura's lens. Originally designed for painters, carpenters, and craftsmen, these pants were built for practicality and durability. While staying true to their workwear heritage, Boncoura has refined the silhouette and materials with a contemporary approach. The fabric is woven using Boncoura's original cotton denim, meticulously developed from the selection of raw cotton, fiber blend, and spinning techniques. Woven on Boncoura's special-spec vintage shuttle looms, it boasts a 15oz weight, giving it a rugged texture that contrasts with the lighter ounce vintage painter pants. This robust construction ensures a unique patina and character that will develop beautifully over time. For this black denim Boncoura has applied a rope-dyeing technique, setting it apart from conventional vintage black denim, which is typically dyed to the core. With traditional "piece-dyed" black denim, fading is minimal, but BONCOURA’s approach maintains a white core, allowing for a fading process similar to classic indigo denim. Over time, the fabric reveals a striking contrast, creating a distinct aged effect. Boncoura's exclusive dye formulation gives the fabric a rich, deep black with a nuanced depth that evolves beautifully with wear.

We also have a reinterpretation of the iconic 1950s type II American denim jacket. On vintage type II jackets, underarm gussets were typically found only on larger sizes. Inspired by this historical detail, Boncoura has incorporated it into all sizes of this jacket. The fabric is made from Boncoura’s proprietary "Ikemen" denim, the same as used in the 66 and XX jean models. The underside of the pocket flaps are lined with their original chambray fabric, allowing for a beautifully aged patina over time.
