Samurai's extra heavyweight T-shirt series are made of two #10 yarns twisted together using a yarn called "open-ended yarn" or "air-spun yarn," which is twisted and spun using only the power of air. This spinning method makes it possible to spin thick staple fibers, which is usually very difficult, resulting in yarns with a slubby texture and containing the perfect amount of air, giving the fabric a dry hand-feel. The resulting fabric has a very nice heft to it and is extremely durable.
The dyeing process involves layering dyes with different properties so that the color changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed, a technique that was perfected after repeated refinements in collaboration with the dyeing factory.
