…developed 13oz black “SUN” denim. These jackets are extremely comfortable and cozy and look great with nearly everything else we stock. An instacop for many of us over here at Self Edge. This 13oz “Sun” Denim starts out as a black warp and natural weft denim which is garment dyed black then dip-dyed in a multi-step process which creates the “sun flame” pattern seen at the bottom of the jacket. The jacket is then garment-paint sprayed by hand to create the final look of the pattern. The natural aspect of this treatment means that the “degrade” motif has an organic look to it on every jacket.

…from Studio D’Artisan’s 45th Anniversary collection. These are produced of a 15oz slub yarn cotton with a natural indigo warp and akane vegetable dyed weft. The natural indigo warp yarns were dipped 30 times with long oxidation periods, an anomaly for natural indigo as normally natural indigo yarns aren’t dipped in the dye bath for this long of a period with this made dips. This technique mixed with the akane vegetable dyed weft yarns creates one truly unique jean. These are produced in SDA’s classic straight leg fit.

These are made of Rick Owens’ in-house developed 14oz pure indigo selvedge and 16oz black/black Japanese selvedge denim which has a sulfur dyed warp and reactive dyed weft for maximum fading character. …particular denim is woven using open-ended yarns, creating ‘70s/80s style textile, and has been sulphur dyed to allow for vintage fading to develop through regular wear and washing. These shirts are finished with heavy-duty black snap fastenings and tonal stitching.

An absolutely ridiculous jean by Studio D’Artisan made in limited numbers for their 45th anniversary. They’ve…
…modified their vintage denim looms to produce an unusually narrow fabric, measuring only 20cm to 38cm wide as opposed to the normal 80cm width of selvedge denim. This enables them to make a jean with three selvedge IDs running down the inside of each leg; triple the selvedge to triple your pleasure. To produce this jean they also reproduced the original yarn used to produce the first SDA jean ever made forty-five years ago, the “D-01”. These are produced in SDA’s classic straight leg fit and are exclusive to Self Edge. Truly a one of a kind jean.
