Studio D’Artisan KUROZOME DEPTH CHARGE Medium-Weight Sashiko Shirt - Black
$370.00
We have another standout shirt using the Japanese sashiko style (translating into "little stabs") fabric treatment. This is one very wild fabric, with a serious amount of work put into it for it to look and feel the way it does. A seriously impressive shirt from Studio D'Artisan's new collection.
Dyed using the Kurozome method from Kyoto which creates the "blackest black" using only natural dyes, done here in a gradient pattern by Kyoto Montsuki, a century old dye-house founded in 1915.
The Kurozome method involves many layers of different "shades" of black betel-nut dye until the deepest shade of black is achieved. Only a small number of craftsmen dye yarns and fabrics using this method in Kyoto.
