The story behind this cap is that this is the cap that Ernest Hemingway ordered from Papa Nui in 1943 when he converted the Pilar to a Q-boat to go chase U-boats in the Gulf Stream.  He needed a cap more suited to his mission and of course he wrote to the Papa to request a custom cap.  So here we have the custom cap which is made of a 9oz khaki brown herringbone twill and a waxed canvas rigid brim.  Simple, durable, and every detail considered.

  • Made in Japan by John Lofgren & Co.
