The MFSC N-1H Deck Jacket is an original MFSC pattern, inspired by different 1940's US deck jackets.
The fabric is a navy blue "Jungle Cloth" (100% cotton gros grain) type. Used by the USN from the 1920's to 1950's, this fabric has amazing sturdiness and is also weatherproof and comfortable to wear. It was loomed to USN specs by Sugar Cane fabric mills in Japan.
Hook front closures have been painted black metal, to prevent corrosion from being exposed to the elements while at sea.
A 1930's type "hookless" zipper (an exact replica, in all aspects) is added inside the windproof flap.
As featured on original deck jackets, a layer of crisp organdy is sandwiched between the outer "jungle cloth" layer and the wool lining, for added wind proofing.
The coat is full lined with a naval wool blanket (The story goes that, for the lining our sailor used a blanket issued to sailors on board of the USS MFSC), dark navy blue with a white horizontal woven stripe, chain-stitched embroidered with the ship name.
Wool knit cuffs and collar band add warmth in cold weather.
The detailing makes the MFSC N-1H the "ultimate winter coat", sure to last a life time even under harsh conditions.
