The pattern of the MFSC Denim Pea Coat is inspired by a 1910's ten button front pea coat.
It is made with "SC301 Okinawa" type fabric, a selvedge dark indigo 14oz. denim, woven on old style shuttle looms, a 50/50 blend of sugar cane fiber and cotton.
Once worn and broken in, the denim will fade and is guaranteed to beautify with wear.
The coat is fully lined with a naval wool blanket type (the story goes that, for the lining, our sailor used a blanket issued to sailors on board of the USS MFSC), dark navy blue with a white horizontal woven stripe, chain-stitched embroidered with the ship name.
The front slash pocket lining is made of honey colored cotton corduroy for warmth and comfort.
Embroidered silk type mermaid patches are sewn inside the front flaps of the MFSC Pea Coat and concealed rainbow color chainstitch are only visible on the inside lining.
Disclaimer: These jackets are made of unsanforized denim, when washed the denim will shrink 1" in the length and 1" in the chest. Please keep this in mind when choosing your size.
